Detailed Review

Vidamuyarchi begins on a gentle note, capturing the emotional complexities of Arjun and Kayal, a couple who have been married and living in Azerbaijan for 12 years. But things take a drastic turn when Kayal decides to file for divorce. Though Arjun is heartbroken, he respects her decision. Kayal,
unwilling to stay with him even until the divorce is finalized, chooses to move back to her parents’ house. Before parting ways, Arjun makes one final request — a last long trip together, after which he promises to drop her off at her home in Dindigul. Kayal agrees, unaware that this trip would change their lives forever.
What starts off as a calm drive suddenly takes a dark turn when another car nearly crashes into them. The driver, instead of apologizing, shows them the middle finger and drives off. Trying to shake it off, the couple continues their journey — until Arjun's car suddenly breaks down in the middle of nowhere.
To ensure Kayal doesn’t get delayed, Arjun arranges for her to go ahead in a passing lorry while he fixes the car. But once his car is repaired and he rushes to catch up, he finds no trace of Kayal. Shockingly, the lorry driver claims he has never seen her.
Confused and panicked, Arjun turns to the police, but even they find no solid evidence against the driver. With Kayal mysteriously vanished, Arjun is left to piece together the puzzle himself.
Vidamuyarchi evolves from an emotional drama into a gripping mystery thriller. The film beautifully balances the tension of a missing person case with the lingering emotions of a love that once was. Arjun's determination to find Kayal, despite their strained relationship, becomes the soul of the story.
The first half hour of the film might feel a bit slow, but once it picks up, time just flies without you realizing it. Every actor in the film has delivered a commendable performance. Ajith completely holds the film on his shoulders as a one-man army.
Though Trisha appears only briefly in the Early part of the film, she leaves a lasting impression. Actor Arav’s performance is truly impressive — at times, he even overshadows Arjun, leaving us wondering who the real villain is.
One of the biggest strengths of the film is Anirudh’s background score, which elevates many scenes significantly. The three songs featured in the film are all well-composed and fit perfectly within the narrative.
Overall, if you walk into this film without comparing it to Ajith’s older movies or carrying too many expectations, you’re bound to enjoy and appreciate it.
