Kannan, known in the underworld as "Bold Kannan," leaves behind his gangster life in search of a fresh start and moves to Malaysia. There, he stays with Yogi Babu and starts working at a local restaurant, trying to lead a quiet, honest life.

But his peaceful life takes a turn when he meets Rukmini Vasanth, a woman struggling under the weight of heavy debts. Smitten by her, Kannan decides to help her escape her financial troubles. He dives into the risky world of gambling to save her — but ends up getting pulled into an unexpected and dangerous twist. What is the twist? Can Kannan save the woman he loves? Ace unfolds as a romantic action-thriller exploring these questions.

Vijay Sethupathi shines as Kannan, delivering a grounded and compelling performance. Rukmini Vasanth handles her role well, showing both vulnerability and strength. Yogi Babu’s comedy works better than in his recent outings, bringing light moments to the story.

Justin Prabhakaran’s songs are decent, while Sam C.S.'s background score adds energy and emotion to key scenes. Cinematographer Kiran P. Rawath captures the streets and atmosphere of Malaysia vividly, enhancing the visual appeal.

However, the movie stumbles when it comes to Kannan's backstory — it's underdeveloped, weakening the buildup in crucial scenes. Some plot points stretch logic, which may distract sharp viewers. Still, if you look past those issues, Ace offers a heartfelt and engaging romantic action thriller.
