Suspended from duty for drinking on the job as a cop, Indra (Vasanth Ravi) drowns deeper into alcohol and eventually loses his eyesight. Yet, his wife Kayal (Mehreen Pirzada) stays by his side, caring for him despite his condition.
Meanwhile, a series of identical murders occur across Chennai — each victim found with their wrist severed. Detached from everything due to his suspension, Vasanth Ravi is suddenly forced into action when the latest victim turns out to be his own wife.
Despite his blindness, with the help of friends, he begins tracking down the killer — revealed to be Sunil. While Sunil confesses to all the murders, he insists he did not kill Megha.
So who really killed her? And why? That mystery unfolds in director Sabarish Nanda’s suspenseful crime thriller.
Vasanth Ravi delivers a natural performance in places, though some crucial emotional moments feel unconvincing. Meghrin Priscada looks good but offers only an okay performance, while Sunil (Abhimanyu) impresses with his villainous screen presence. Technically, Prabhu Raghav`s cinematography and Ajmal Tahseen`s background score add strength to the film.
However, weak character writing and lack of depth in roles make the drama less impactful. The second half picks up pace with a few twists and even sets up a lead for a possible sequel — but without much thrill in the climax.
Overall, Indra is a regular suspense-crime thriller that lands below average, though fans of the genre might still find it engaging.
Verdict: Indhira – A film that had potential but falls short.
