Red Flower (2025)

Detailed Review

Year 2047 — the Third World War has ended, and a military force led by the tyrant Thalaivasal Vijay, under the banner Malcolm Dynasty, has brought several countries under its control. Their next target: India.

Determined to protect his nation, the Prime Minister of India (Y. G. Mahendran) launches a counter-operation and appoints the protagonist, Vignesh, as its leader. This mission is called Operation Red Flower.

What happens next? Does Operation Red Flower succeed? How does Vignesh confront this powerful army and save India? Director Andrew Pandian delivers this as an action-thriller mix.

Vignesh plays a dual role as both hero and villain — saving women in one role while exploiting them in another, which brings to mind the famous Muthalvan line: "He appoints himself, then he removes himself." However, despite the double role, some scenes fail to convey the right expressions.

Manisha Jasnani adds glamour, while Thalaivasal Vijay fits well as the power-hungry dictator. Y. G. Mahendran, John Vijay, and Nassar do justice to their roles. Santosh Ram’s songs and background score are passable, and Deva Surya’s cinematography helps to an extent.

Unfortunately, the film struggles with illogical scenes and a lack of clarity in the screenplay.

Overall: Red Flower — lacks both color and fragrance.
