Detailed Review

When the Vaigai Dam is built, villagers lose their farmlands. During periods when the dam has no water, they cultivate crops, but when it fills up, they turn to ganja smuggling for survival. Leading this operation is Rokkapuli (Sarathkumar), assisted by Kombuseevi Pandi (Shanmuga Pandian).

Their involvement in smuggling creates constant conflict with the police. When they receive a major consignment order, the rivalry intensifies as police pressure increases. What happens next? Do they successfully complete the big deal? Director Ponram presents this as a crime–action–drama.

Sarathkumar single-handedly carries the film with his strong performance, excelling in both emotional and comedic scenes. Shanmuga Pandian shows improvement in action sequences but still lacks maturity in other portions. Tharnika looks good on screen but falls short in natural acting. Supporting actors Kalki Raja, Tarun Gopi, Kali Venkat, and Mariam George perform well. Yuvan’s music is average, with background score working only in parts. Cinematographer Balasubramaniam stands out, adding strong visual appeal to the film.

With a familiar southern rural setting, local flavor, and Ponram’s trademark humor, the film has all expected elements—but they don’t fully engage. Comedy doesn’t work effectively, songs are mediocre, and the film shines mainly in visuals. Though it attempts to address agricultural issues through a commercial lens, the screenplay feels overworked.
