Detailed Review

Vikram Prabhu works as an armed reserve police officer. While escorting a prisoner from Vellore prison to court, the inmate tries to escape, forcing Vikram Prabhu to shoot him. This puts him under official investigation. Even while the inquiry is ongoing, Vikram Prabhu is again assigned to escort another prisoner named Abdul from Vellore prison to the Sivagangai court. During the journey, Abdul manages to snatch his gun and escape. How does Vikram Prabhu handle this critical situation? Director Suresh Rajakumari presents this story as an action–thriller–drama.

Vikram Prabhu impresses with his natural performance, portraying love, sorrow, and anger with restraint. His acting brings depth and authenticity to the character. Not just him, the supporting cast also fits their roles perfectly. Newcomers Akshay Kumar and Anishma Anilkumar deliver confident performances without showing signs of inexperience. Munaar Ramesh, Thenappan, and others also do justice to their roles. Justin Prabhakaran’s songs don’t stand out much, but the background score works effectively. Madhesh Manickam’s cinematography is neat and competent.

Though inspired by real events, the film successfully adapts them into a strong screenplay while addressing important social issues. It explores the challenges faced by police officers and the idea of justice for ordinary people in a meaningful way.

Blending thriller elements with a strong social message, this film is suitable for family viewing.

Overall, Sirai – well made and impactful.
