Detailed Review
In the hill region of Kurangani, the village chief Vimal organizes a grand festival for the deity Yaaliswarar. Meanwhile, a gang led by Mahima Gupta plans to steal the idol for themselves. On the other side, police officer John Vijay and another group also target the same idol. How does Vimal ultimately protect the sacred statue? That’s what director Dinesh Kalaichelvan delivers as an adventure–mythological thriller.
Vimal, though the protagonist, appears in surprisingly few scenes and delivers an average performance. Srushti Dange, as a tribal woman, stands out with her impressive acting, while Mahima Gupta plays her villainous role effectively. Other characters are forgettable. Yogi Babu’s comedy doesn’t work, and John Vijay’s villainy feels loud but flat. Udayaprakash Kumar’s music is decent, and Manas Babu’s cinematography captures the forest visuals beautifully.
Despite having an interesting premise about protecting a temple idol, the director fails to add freshness or excitement to the screenplay.
