Love Marriage (2025)

Detailed Review

Ramachandran (played by Vikram Prabhu) remains unmarried until the age of 33. When he finally finds a suitable bride, his family travels to Gobichettipalayam to fix the engagement. After the engagement is finalized, their vehicle breaks down on the way back, forcing them to stay at the bride`s home for two days. Soon after, a sudden lockdown is announced due to COVID-19, and they have to extend their stay further. Ramachandran sees this as an opportunity and suggests proceeding with the wedding immediately. But a major twist occurs — the bride runs away from home.

What happens next? Does she return? Does Ramachandran get married? Director Shanmugapriyan presents this in a comedy-infused emotional drama.

Vikram Prabhu delivers his usual, composed performance. actress sushmita bhat Though the dialogues aren’t many, she does justice to his role. Supporting actors like Ramesh Thilak and Arul Doss have also performed their parts well. Among them, Meenakshi Dinesh, who plays the heroine`s sister, impresses with her cheerful and lively dialogue delivery. There are a few good comedy scenes sprinkled throughout the movie.

Technically, the film stands out. Credit goes to cinematographer Madhan Christopher and art director Murali. While Sean Roldan's songs are not very memorable, the background score works just fine.

Sathyaraj’s cameo doesn't make a strong impact. At several points, the story loses its grip. When a 33-year-old finally finds a match and the bride runs away, we should feel sympathy for the man. But the film fails to evoke that emotion — and that’s one of its biggest drawbacks.

For audiences who enjoy light-hearted family dramas, Love Marriage could still be an enjoyable watch.
