Detailed Review
Boss Venkat, a police officer in Madurai, suspects that a young man has recorded a video of him taking a bribe. He brings the youth to the station and beats him brutally, resulting in the young man’s death in the lockup. Shockingly, the police discover a controversial video of a high-profile politician on the victim’s phone. To cover up the truth, they frame Kishore, a call-taxi driver, as the one responsible for the lockup death and arrest him.
Meanwhile, TTF Vasan, who works as a food-delivery boy, is in love with Kishore’s sister. Determined to save Kishore, Vasan steps into the fight. Was he able to rescue him? Debut director Karunanidhi presents the story as a crime-political thriller.
Although Vasan is the official hero, it is Kishore who truly stands out with a powerful performance and more screen time. Abhirami, playing his wife, fits her role well. Vasan looks apt as a food-delivery boy, but apart from the love and fight scenes, he needs more maturity in acting. Boss Venkat, Harish Peradi, Singampuli, and Aadukalam Naren all deliver solid performances. Ashwin Vinayagamoorthy’s songs and background score enhance the film.
The director attempts to narrate a story involving lockup deaths and political repercussions, but the screenplay becomes confusing and uneven. Only a few scenes work effectively.
