In Chennai, Rowdy Anand Raj controls each area through violence, intimidation, and mafia-style dominance using his gang. Yet no case has ever been filed against him. To capture him, the DGP forms a special team led by Samyuktha.
Meanwhile, a few of Anand Raj’s own men plan to kill him. Whose plan succeeds in the end? Does Anand Raj escape? Director A. S. Mukundan delivers crime, action, comedy, and a message in this film.
Anand Raj shines by switching between comedy and villainy whenever required. Samyuktha Shanmuganathan is convincing as a tough police officer and performs solid action scenes, though her constant angry expression throughout the film feels unnecessary. Muniskanth’s scenes guarantee laughter. Deepa and Laya as Anand Raj’s wives, and Shakeela as his lover, all fit their roles well.
Ashok Raj’s cinematography serves the film effectively. Music director Srikanth Deva’s folk dance number is energetic, and the background score supports the flow of the scenes.
The director presents the life of a rowdy with a blend of comedy and sentiment while also conveying a message. However, the making could have been better. Still, it is a decent watch with the family for some laughter.
