Gandhi (Balaji Sakthivel) works as a security guard in Chennai and is deeply devoted to his wife, Kannamma (Archana). When Kannamma expresses her wish to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary in a grand way, Gandhi approaches Kathir (KPY Bala), who runs an event management company. With profit in mind, Kathir quotes 50 lakhs for the celebration.

To fulfill his wife`s dream, Gandhi sells his land to arrange the money — only to be hit with a shocking twist: demonetization. With his hard-earned money rendered useless, will Gandhi still be able to fulfill Kannamma`s wish of a memorable 60th wedding anniversary? Director Sheriff tells this tale as a blend of sentiment and drama.

Known primarily as a comedian, Bala makes his debut as a lead actor in an emotional story. Though his one-liners bring occasional laughter, the use of body-shaming humor could have been avoided. At times, he overacts in serious moments and appears flat in others — areas he could refine in future films if he aims to shine as a hero.

Balaji Sakthivel almost feels like a second protagonist, appearing in several scenes with his natural performance, though he too slips into overacting at times. Archana as his wife delivers a sincere, grounded performance, with her emotional climax scene leaving a strong impact. Namita Krishnamurthy, as the young woman yearning for Bala`s love, fits her role well. Other actors have little to do.

Vivek–Mervin`s music supports the film only to an extent, without leaving a lasting mark. Despite having the core of a good emotional drama, the screenplay lacks weight, and overacting from the leads dilutes the impact. The climax, however, lingers in the audience`s mind.

It is a full length sentimental drama. A film that will appeal to viewers who enjoy emotional, family-centric stories.
