That day, the Kovalam police station was in chaos. Both officers and criminals looked tense and fearful — all because of a single laptop and the terrifying threats coming from it. What really happened in that police station?

As the Prime Minister of India was about to visit the area, Inspector Nutty was assigned for special security duty. Around the same time, Sub-Inspector Akshara Reddy came to the station to personally invite her colleagues to her wedding. Meanwhile, a man named Arun Pandian arrived to file a complaint about his missing son — but the police ignored him. With multiple incidents unfolding inside the station, what happened next became the real turning point.

The main reason behind the tension: an officer who had been returning stolen items to their rightful owners found only one item left — a laptop. He decided to give it to his son, but when he turned it on, it powered up on its own. Soon, it became clear that someone was remotely controlling it.

A mysterious voice from the laptop warned that if the police did not follow his instructions, he would detonate the bombs planted all over the station. How did the officers escape from that deadly situation? What did the man want that made him threaten an entire police station? And did Arun Pandian ever find his son? Director Subramanian Ramesh Kumar delivers these answers in a suspenseful, thrilling way.

Though Nutty plays the lead role, his screen time is surprisingly limited. Yet in the scenes he appears, his performance is solid. He starts off a bit over-the-top, but gradually makes the audience connect with his character. Munnar Ramesh delivers a stronger performance overall, while Thangadurai`s comic counters provide some light moments. Akshara Reddy`s acting is decent, but her expressions in tense scenes could use more maturity.

Even though the entire film takes place inside one police station, Padmesh`s cinematography keeps it visually engaging. Guna Subramanian`s background score supports the film`s tension well, though the songs don`t leave much impact. The plot — involving a corrupt politician, his son, and their crimes — might seem familiar, but the narration feels refreshing.

The director came up with a good suspense thriller idea, but a little more polish in the screenplay could have made it truly shine.

Right is an average yet watchable suspense thriller. If you get the chance, you can give it a try.
