The protagonist Ranjith suffers a major loss in his textile business. He also needs money for his son’s surgery, so he borrows ₹80 lakhs from the villain Vittal Rao. Vittal Rao’s brother, “Pudhupettai” Suresh, is infamous for harassing the families of those who fail to repay their loans. Unable to bear the torture from the loan sharks, Ranjith plans to end his life. Did his plan succeed? Who is the psycho killer who enters his house? What does he want? Director Venkat Jana presents this as a family thriller drama.
Ranjith impresses with his realistic performance. His expressions while struggling under loan pressure draw us into the story. Meghali Meenakshi delivers a grounded performance as his wife. The children, Neelesh and Maunika, also perform well. Kathiravan’s portrayal of a police officer feels a bit exaggerated. Vittal Rao and Suresh appear as typical villains. Sunil Lazar’s background score and Suriya Kanthi’s cinematography support the film’s narrative.
The story remains heavily focused on loan struggles throughout, making the film feel emotionally burdensome. Logical loopholes don’t help either. The performances mentioned above stand as the only strong points.
